Lauren Spencer
Exercise Physiologist
Lauren spent a long time circling her career in healthcare, initially starting her studies to become a physiotherapist. When she became immersed in student placements in neurological rehabilitation, she struck gold in finding a harmonious combination of her career interests of sport, medicine, biomechanics and sustainable approaches to well-being in Exercise Physiology. Today she is a highly passionate advocate for her field, having seen the chronic mental, physical and emotional enhancements reported by her clients and their loved ones, often defying initial prognosis.
Lauren has a professional background in private practice neurological, pelvic and women’s health rehabilitation, most recently completing her post-graduate training in pre and postnatal care. Since joining the team at Centre of Movement, she has thrown herself into the rewarding arena of paediatrics, privileged to work with clients of various ages and gifts. The move into working with babies through to adolescents has been a delight, having met incredible families and support workers all working towards life-altering milestones.
Lauren prides herself on problem-solving and expressing her creativity through her work, ensuring that her clients can have fun moving their bodies and acquiring essential life skills throughout each age and stage. Her favourite element of her job is fostering an appreciation of exercise and its benefits across her clients’ bodies and minds, giving them the confidence and comfort within their skin to embrace their health and independence for years to come.
Lauren spends her spare time trying strange new foods, soaking up time with her loved ones and chasing the sun.
